Audi's Best First Quarter in History in the US

Step by step, the US market is becoming one of great importance for German manufacturer Audi. The market that until recently was the biggest one in the world is finding the four ringed cars to be more than appealing, as more and more Americans choose to buy the new Audis.

The evolution of the US market has brought impressive figures for the car maker already, but none of them seem to match the ones recorded for the first three months of the year. In the months that have made up the first quarter, Audi sold 25,383 units, a not at all impressive number in itself, but an extraordinary achievement considering that it represents the best first quarter in history and a 19.1 percent jump in sales over the first quarter of last year.

The achievement was made possible by the 9,818 vehicles sold in March 2011 by Audi on the local market. That represents an increase of 25 percent over the month of February. Among the car maker's best selling models were the A3, A6 and the new flagship A8. The bigger models, the Q5 and Q7 also contributed to the growth in sales.

“Having ended 2010 on such a high note, it was important to ensure that we continue our momentum well into 2011,”
said Audi of America president Johan de Nysschen.

“As first quarter sales figures clearly reinforce the notion that consumers are eager to drive the superior lineup of Audi vehicles, we are optimistic that 2011 will be another banner year for us,” added the executive.
