The Audi Q5 medium-sized SUV has been received very well on the market, ever since it was introduced in 2008. Considering this, it would make sense if Audi would introduce a performance version of the Q5, which could be marketed as the “SQ5”.

The sporty SUV will probably be dressed in a bespoke body kit, including “S” front and rear bumpers, a quadruple exhaust and a chrome “S” front grille. Its interior is also expected to feature discreet styling upgrades which would represent the car's character.

The “SQ5” might be inspired from the Q5 Custom Concept, introduced by the carmaker in May last year, at the 28th Worthersee Tour. The concept is powered by a modified version of the supercharged 3.0 liter TFSI V6 engine from the Audi S4. The powerplant’s output has been increased from 333 hp to 408 hp. This allows the SUV to reach the 62 mph mark in 4.4 seconds and reach an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

The vehicle features a 3.54 inch (90 mm) widened track and a 2.36 inch (60 mm) lowered suspension. The custom SUV rides on 21 inch rims that use a 7 twin-spoke design and come in a two-color finish, while being dressed in a special Daytona Gray paint. Its also uses a high performance ceramic braking system.

The Audi Q5’s current top of the range engine is a naturally aspirated 3.2 liter V6 engine that develops 270 hp at 6,500 rpm and 243 lb-ft of torque between 3,000 and 5,000 rpm. Equipped with this powerplant, the Q5 covers the 0 to 62 mph sprint in 6.9 seconds and has a top speed of 145.4 mph (234 km/h).
