Audi Breaks Another Record in China

What came in as the news of the day a while back has turned into some kind of routine: record sales figures for carmakers in China. Chinese love cars and, most of all, German and American cars. After GM and Ford, it is Audi's turn to post yet another impressive sales figure in the country.

For Audi, August 2010 represented a 67.5 percent better month than August 2009. For the Chinese, this increase meant 22,358 new Audis found their match. For the Audi customers, the German brand means, according to a J.D. Power study, the best brand in terms of contract negotiation, the sales process and competence of sales staff.

According to the J.D. Power researchers, Audi leads the chart in the Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) and the Customer Service Index (CSI).

“This impressively demonstrates our strategy of qualitative growth in China,”
Dietmar Voggenreiter, Head of Audi China said in a statement.

But that's not the end of it. Being the carmaker's largest foreign market, China will be in for a treat from Audi in the months to come, as its local partners will pump in excess of EUR100 million ($128 million) into increasing service quality. Of course, not without a hidden agenda...

“To achieve our next targeted record of 300,000 units by 2012, we need to ensure high levels of customer retention in China just like in other countries,”
Peter Schwarzenbauer, Audi member of the board for Marketing and Sales added.

“A high degree of satisfaction with sales and service are the basis for this,” Schwarzenbauer concluded.
