Audi Adds $1,000 Over CARS Incentive

Even if some people are warning that the US Car Allowance Rebate System (CARS) might be halted due to the lack of funds, German manufacturer Audi announced a new incentive for buyers who purchase one of the company's eligible models. Debuted today and lasting until August 31, the new offer gives an extra $1,000 consumer incentive over the voucher offered by dealers participating in the scheme.

"The CARS reimbursement enacted by Congress is a tremendous opportunity for consumers interested in upgrading to vehicles that offer better fuel efficiency and reduced emissions," said Mark Del Rosso, Chief Operating Officer, Audi of America. "Now that some uncertainties surrounding the launch of this federal program have been cleared up the time is right to enhance the deal even further."

Audi joined the scheme with several eligible models, from both model year 2008 - A3 2.0T, A4 2.0T, A4 Avant quattro 2.0T, A4 Cabriolet 2.0T, TT Coupe, TT Roadster - and 2009 - A3 2.0T, A3 quattro 2.0T, A4 Cabriolet, Audi Q5 and many others. Additionally, the German manufacturer says model year 2010 vehicles are currently being evaluated for inclusion into the CARS program.

Audi is not the only manufacturer who is offering an extra incentive over the one provided by the US government. Chrysler for example agreed to double the CARS incentive, raising the total value of the voucher to $9,000.

“Everyone shopping for a new car or truck qualifies for an incentive of up to $4,500 – even if they don’t have a vehicle that qualifies under the U.S. Government’s program,” Steven Beahm, Vice President – Sales Operations, Chrysler Group said. “This incentive is great in that it’s easy to understand and available to everyone.”
