Audi A6 Tops DEKRA Faults Report 2011

Audi is preparing to launch a new generation of the A6, aiming to offer a vehicle that will take the brand's game to a new level and offer customers a premium feeling. However, the current generation of the saloon isn't going to exit the automotive scene just like that. Before making room for its successor, the current A6 has received a new award, as the car was named "Best of All Classes" in the Faults Report 2011 of the DEKRA testing organization.

This is the third time in a row when the A6 manages to claim the top spot in the report. DEKRA's specialists seek to find the vehicles with the fewest issues over a high mileage.

"The DEKRA experts award the title to the models with the lowest fault rate over a high mileage, thus rewarding high long-term quality. In preparing the 2011 Faults Report DEKRA will be using the new DEKRA defects index. This classification system incorporates the rating of “considerable defects” as an evaluation criterion in addition to “no relevant defects”. According to DEKRA, taking into account the share of considerable defects among all defects allows evaluations to be even more exact," explained the press release.

The new A6, which will hit the market in early 2011, will come with a high level of efficiency, thanks to a lightweight construction and optimized engines.

"Audi is continuing the success story of the most reliable business sedan. The new A6 will be launched in early 2011. The new edition of the A6 is distinguished by top quality and innovative solutions in all technical areas," stated the press release.
