The third member of the all-new Audi A3 family is set to arrive in Britain. The A3 Saloon is a brand new entry for Vorsprung dutch Technik, the first compact saloon and also the first three-box design of the A3.
A viable alternative for A4 customers, this new model has 45 more liters of boot space than the A3 Sportback for a total of 425 liters. To ensure optimal interior space, the proportions have changed, as the A3 Saloon is longer by 14mm, wider by 11mm and 9mm lower for stability.
he all-new saloon will initially be available with the of the best engines Audi can master for this class: the 1.5 TFSI 140 PS which comes with cylinder deactivation, the 1.8 TFSI with 180 PS and the 2.0 TDI 150 PS.
A choice of either Sport or S line trim levels will be available in the UK. Initially, only halogen headlights for the Sport and xenon for the S line will be available, but full-LED will be launched later in 2013.
Prices will start at £24,305 for the A3 Saloon 1.4 TFSI in Sport trim with S tronic gearbox. The 1.8 TFSI begins at £25,955 and also comes with S tronic, but the 2.0 TDI is only available with a manual at £24,275.
