Audi has followed the launch of the A1 supermini in Malaysia last year with the A1 Sportback, a five-door version of the same car offering increased practicality.
Only one version of the car is offered at the moment, the 1.4 TFSI with 122 hp and 200 Nm of torque, equipped with a 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission (a DSG7 in disguise).

Standard features include LED daytime running lights, xenon headlights and 16-inch alloy wheels.Automatic climate control and a 6.5-inch MMI infotainment system are also part of the deal, packaged into the RM179,900 base price (€45,300 at today's exchange rate).

For the reference's sake, we'll tell you that the A1 Sportback was launched in Europe about a year ago and starts at about €16,950 for the base 86 hp 1.2 TFSI without DSG. But you have to admit, Malaysia has some pretty heavy taxes.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
