The performance braking and clutch manufacturer AP Racing comes to support this by releasing a new Formula Big Brake Kit for a selection of hyperenergic road vehicles.
The AP Racing Formula Big Brake kits include rotors, calipers, brake pads, bespoke mounting brackets & bolts, a braided hose kit as well as brake fluid. The systems use a special APF404 compound, which offers consistent performance over time, low noise, good feel-back with low wear and low fade characteristics.
The systems use AP Racing’s new heavy duty Strap Drive mounting technology. This uses multiple stainless steel straps to locate the rotor to the mounting bell, offering an alternative to existing floating systems and producing a flexible coupling between the hub and the rotor faces. This allows for unlimited rotor expansion and contraction.
One of the special features of AP Racing’s systems is that they offer a high level of fade resistance, allowing the driver to perform repeated high speed stops. In addition to that, the kits are suitable for everyday driving, as they are fitted with dust seals and a durable anti-corrosion finish.
“Using design features and technology derived from AP Racing’s motorsport pursuits, the Formula Big Brake Kits are suitable for both everyday road use as well as weekend track days. Large discs and multi piston calipers considerably increase the stopping power, making the brakes more responsive which results in increased levels of confidence in late braking techniques when used on the track,” stated the press release.
AP Racing offers new Formula Big Brake Kits for the following street performance icons: the Audi S3, the BMW M6 (coupe & cabrio) and the Volkswagen Golf MK5 R32.
