Another “Bug Concept” Car, This Time from Fiat

It seems Mother Nature tends to leave its mark more and more on the automotive design these days, as an increasing number of “nature-inspired” concepts seem to emerge. We've already talked about the “grasshopper” personal carrier design from a Taiwanese design student and today it's the turn of the Fiat Bugster, a similar “buggy” form with the same greenish color.

The Bugster Concept is meant for the Sao Paolo International Auto Show which is coming round the corner. For those of you scratching their heads as to what in the name of car design is Fiat doing in Latin America, the answer is simple: Fiat's always had a big market in South America and that's why they focus their efforts there.

The concept looks very rugged at first glance, and it's very similar to a Jeep Wrangler concept to any who's been watching the car market for a while now. This bug-inspired car looks more like a beach buggy if you ask us but Fiat swears that it's an original design, so who are we to contradict them.

Just as you'd probably guessed, the green color on the car does have something to do with being environmentally-friendly, not just to retain that bug-like quality. By the way, that green color might prove a turn off for people who tend to have a phobia for what has been generally named “creepy crawlers”.

Details about this concept have yet to be revealed, but the main idea is that the vehicle will have 0 emissions and the body panels will be made out of renewable natural fibers, whatever that means. More details about the vehicle will be presented at the Sao Paulo Auto Show which takes place between October 30 and November 10.
