Ana Beatriz Secures Indy Seat with Dreyer & Reinbold

While some teams are closing down and several high-ranked drivers are looking for jobs prior to the start of the 2011 IZOD IndyCar Series, Ana Beatriz flew under the radar and eventually secured her first full-time campaign in the championship with the Dreyer & Reinbold team.

Beatriz, who debuted in the series last year for the same team and made 4 starts throughout the 2010 campaign, will be joining Justin Wilson this year, as Dreyer & Reinbold will be able to sustain a 2-car effort in 2011.

It's a dream come true that this has all come together,” said Beatriz when finding out the news. “Last year was important for me to run four races to get adjusted and for this year I feel more prepared than ever. It's great to be back at DRR, they know me already and what it takes to make me grow as a driver.

Beatriz' programme with Dreyer & Reinbold last season started with the race in Sao Paolo, which she finished in 13rd place. Although she competed in the series in three more events that season, that was to remain her highlight. Her remaining participations in the championship were caused by Mike Conway's early injury.

I'm as excited as I've ever been,” admitted the team's co-owner Robbie Buhl. “I think this is the best focus we've had in years. We've put ourselves in another great position to have two very competitive entries and we couldn't be happier. Bia is an exceptional driver and we are thrilled to have her on board with us.”
