The 2014 MINI Cooper launch outshone everything else at the Tokyo Motor Show 2013 including a model we’ve been expecting for quite a while now that also made its world debut in Asia this week.
The Alpina B4 Biturbo is the closest thing to an M4 you can get at the moment, being fitted with a monstrously improved engine and a lot of luxurious bits and pieces.
The car is currently on display in Tokyo but, for those of us that can’t make it to Japan these days, the German company decided to release a set of photos with the new car, to let us know what we’re missing out on.
Spec-wise, the car has 410 HP at its disposal and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque, all of them coming out of a bi-turbo 3-liter 6-cylinder inline engine based on the N55 unit from BMW.
With such numbers, the B4 reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.2 seconds with the improved 8-speed automatic gearbox and has a top speed of 300 km/h (187 mph).
The best thing about these Coupes from Alpina is that they also come in AWD versions. Prices start at EUR68,600 for the RWD version and EUR71,500 for the AWD, and you can configure your own, on the company’s website.
