Alonso Will End Career at Ferrari

Soon after Kimi Raikkonen joined Ferrari 3 years ago, the Finn publicly revealed that he will end his Formula One career at Maranello. Of course, he hasn't announced his future team yet, but it's hard to believe – to say the least – that the Finn would in fact leave the series now that he was ousted by Ferrari with one year remaining of contract.

However, the story seems to repeat itself once again, as Fernando Alonso is also convinced that Ferrari will be his last team in Formula One. The two-time world champion signed a 3-year deal with the Scuderia starting 2010 and presumably benefits from a 3-year extension clause that could keep him at Maranello until the end of 2015.

If the extension option will be picked by Ferrari three years from now, Alonso will be 34 by the time he'll terminate his commitments with the Prancing Horse.

Hopefully I can continue as long as I want and I can finish my career here with a lot of wins. I really think that Ferrari will be my last team, as I said, leaving Ferrari to change teams is a step backwards. Ferrari is more than a team and I want to finish my career there,” said Alonso to reporters at Suzuka.

The Spaniard once again admitted that he'll drive for the team of his dreams next years, while hoping to achieve as much as he can with Ferrari. However, when comparing himself to Michael Schumacher, Alonso admitted that matching the German's performances will be close to impossible.

It will obviously not be easy and I would like to do the same as Michael, by winning many championships, but I think that it will be very difficult. I will go there to be in the best team possible for my career and Ferrari and I share many things together, such as the passion for competition and to give 100 per cent every race. I think that this is the best destination of my career,” added Alonso.
