Words can't describe the way I feel about the all-new Volkswagen Tiguan. After following its development for over a year, I expected it to look good, but not this good. After appearing at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the SUV now appears in two different videos on Youtube.
One of them is going to become the official promo, speaking to the heart of the customer that might spend as much as €60,000 on the new Tiguan.

The ad talks about the change in the life of a man, but it's also a metaphor for the new Tiguan, which is nothing like its predecessor. With the R-Line body kit and white paint, this SUV is a stunner. In fact, I'd go as far as to call it the most exciting Volkswagen right now.

Highlights include adaptive LED headlights, a C-shaped array of bright daytime running lights and the sharpest body kit we've seen in a while. Like the Macan, the Tiguan features three-dimensional taillights as well.

The second car in the video, the red one, is less exciting to look at than the R-Line. But it's more adaptable on rough ground and features orange leather interior accents. The cabin is about the same as the Passat's but considering you can buy a digital dash, that's not a bad thing.

This hugely significant SUV model will push Volkswagen in a new direction. Speaking of push, we need to mention Europeans will get eight engines, more powerful and economical. The most exciting thing you will find under the bonnet is the so-called bi-TDI, a 2-liter diesel that produces 240 PS. If you can't afford that, the 190 PS single-turbo version of the 2.0 TDI is still a great choice.

The Tiguan will arrive in the US as a 2017 model year vehicle and is the first crossover from VW to ride on the new MQB modular architecture. Full details are not available, but we expect only two or three engines to be available, namely the 1.8 and 2.0 turbos plus the 2.0 TDI Clean Diesel.
