I think it has been a while since I last talked about the phenomenon of ultra-luxury CUVs and super-SUVs that was initiated by the Bentley Bentayga and taken to new and exquisite heights by the likes of Lambo's Urus or the Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
Currently, the automotive world is deeply enamored with everything pertaining to the crossover, SUV, or truck domain – including if it belongs to the EV lifestyle. Well, some automakers are trying to stand out in a crowd by playing it friendly and affordable – just think about the $28k Toyota RAV4 or the $44k Tesla Model Y, the best-selling CUV nameplates in America and many other parts of the world.

At the other end of the spectrum, more and more automakers are hurrying to catch a piece of the mega-ritzy pie that was first baked by the Bentley Bentayga and then refined by the most popular ultra-luxury super-SUVs out there, the Lamborghini Urus and Rolls-Royce Cullinan. As such, it is no wonder that even Ferrari has joined the party alongside nameplates like the Aston Martin DBX707 with its all-new, first-ever four-door, V12-powered Purosangue.

However, the 715-hp Prancing Horse doesn't hold the most powerful production SUV title as the accolade goes to one ugly hay burner, sorry, crossover: BMW's XM. Not the base 50e version, which comes with the 3.0-liter B58 inline-six and electric assistance for a combined 469 horsepower, of course. Not even the regular BMW XM doesn't hold a candle with 644 hp next to the Purosangue as its primary target is, obviously, the 657-hp Lambo Urus Performante and Urus S.

Instead, the crown goes to the BMW XM Label Red, which packs the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 aided by the electric motor and 25.7 kWh battery pack for a combined output of 738 horsepower. However, some people just can't get past the outrageously controversial styling of this CUV, and I also think that some color combinations make the XM Label Red perfect for Looney Tunes' Porky Pig character!

Luckily, Nikita Chuicko, the virtual artist better known as kelsonik on social media, thinks now is the right CGI time to fuel our aftermarket BMW XM dreams and has quickly managed to persuade me that the Label Red deserves a second chance – albeit only if it comes in the real world with a lowered suspensions, new aftermarket wheels dressed in black with crimson brake calipers, and absolutely no trim in another color than black to match the dark and menacing body.

Frankly, that's the only way I would accept an XM into my life – and that's mostly because I think that 99% of automakers don't get the split-headlight styling right for me. If you need a different kind of example of a much more affordable crossover SUV, take a quick look at the pixel master's work on the new Skoda Kodiaq – not even this CGI expert was able to salvage the distinctively stupid pose triggered by two sets of headlights!
