Alfa Romeo has announced the UK pricing for its centenary model, the new Giulietta compact.
The Giulietta range starts at 16,995 pounds OTR (for the120 hp petrol engine) and goes up to 24,495 OTR (for the 235 hp Cloverleaf model). The five door compact will make its British debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 2-4, where Alfa Romeo will be holding its 100 years anniversary celebration as the featured marque.
The Italian hatch is scheduled to enter the UK market this summer and will offer an engine range comprising of three petrol powerplants and two diesel ones. The entry level engine on the Giulietta will be the 120hp 1.4 liter TB. This will be followed by the the 170 hp 1.4 liter MultiAir and by the range-topping 235 hp 1.75 liter TBi Cloverleaf model. The smallest diesel unit will be the 105 hp 1.6 liter, while the most potent oil burner will be a 170 hp 2.0 liter JTDM.
Customers will be able to choose from three equipment levels: Turismo, Lusso and Veloce, with the top of the range Cloverleaf model having its own special interior and exterior trim. The Giulietta’s standard equipment list includes air conditioning, electric front and rear windows, a start stop system (this is not featured on the Cloverleaf), VDC, LED front and rear lights, electronic Q2, Alfa Romeo’s DNA technology and six airbags.
The mad Cloverleaf version comes with 18 inch alloy rims that use a dark titanium finish, dark tinted windows, red painted brake calipers and bespoke badging. The hot hatch can reach 62 mph in 6.8 seconds and has a top speed of 150 mph.
