Rolls Royce is experiencing bigger sales in Asia and, of course, the company wants to fully benefit from this boom by bringing new models and opening new dealerships in the country. Company officials said in a statement that Rolls Royce will from now on target younger buyers as it plans to increase deliveries in China by at least 10 percent.
"We will see for China this year quite strong growth," Rolls Royce CEO Torsten Mueller said in a statement according to BusinessDay. "At least a two-digit figure," he answered when asked how much Rolls Royce wants to sell in China.
The same happens in India where the luxury car manufacturer prepares to open new dealerships in an effort to bring cars closer to local buyers. Indians bought 80 cars in 2010 as compared to 600 units the Chinese ordered in the same period.
"India is one of the major markets for us in Asia, the second-fastest growing after China... We want to be present where our customers are, so we are looking at enhancing our distribution," Mueller added when talking about India. "I think at least two more dealerships will be added. This year, I think we will see a three-digit number (in sales) in India," he said in a statement.
But Rolls Royce also has high expectations from the company's first all-electric car, a battery-powered Phantom that will be on stage at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show.
autoevolution will be attending the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
