Aerolab Confirms Lotus' Partnership in F1

We're sure this doesn't come as a surprise to anybody, but aerodynamic engineering company Aerolab today confirmed that they will partner Lotus F1 Team in developing their 2010 challenger for Formula One.

Aerolab and parent-company Fondtech will therefore continue their involvement in the sport, after previously partnering with Toyota, Renault and Force India.

We are very enthusiastic about the new partnership between ourselves and Lotus F1 Racing. I am also confident in the potential of our team as well as the future synergy between Lotus F1 Racing, Fondtech and Aerolab,” said Aerolab's managing director Jean-Claude Migeot in a statement for the press.

It's great to be working alongside Jean-Claude and his staff again. The teams I've been involved with before unquestionably benefited from Aerolab's resources and know-how so it was an easy decision on my part to renew that relationship when it came to Lotus F1 Racing. Together, I'm hopeful of producing a competitive package that will compare favourably against the established order in 2010,” added Lotus' technical director Mike Gascoyne.

Gascoyne himself worked with Toyota and Force India in Formula One throughout the years, before taking a sabbatical in 2008.

Lotus F1 Team recently issued a statement in which they insisted their name should not be associated with the latest spy saga involving Aerolab and Force India. According to recent reports, it seems that Lotus F1's wind tunnel model may be a copy of Force India's 2010 challenger, left behind by the Silverstone based outfit when they ended their collaboration with Fondtech. However, none of those allegations were confirmed by either of the two parties.
