In addition to the windshield wipers issue involving around 9,000 Toyota sedans, the automaker announced an additional recall involving some lug nuts for the spare wheel.
The recall addresses certain Toyota Tacoma model year 2012-2013 equipped with 18-inch Maverick alloy wheels. The 979 possible affected vehicles have spare tires that require a different style lug nut to attach them to the vehicle.

Using the normal lug nuts from the standard wheels for installing a spare one may damage it and could result in a loose wheel, increasing the risk of a crash.

Toyota will notify owners via first class mail, requesting them to take their vehicle to a dealership where a warning label will be installed on the spare tire and also receive the right wheel lug nuts. Owners can also call Toyota at 1-954-429-2000 for more info.
