In an effort to counter poor European sales, Fiat (and Abarth) are looking elsewhere for customers. Now, after the Fiat-Chrysler group announced that it would be introducing Jeep to the Indian market next year, they have also announced that they will be adding Abarth to the portfolio of brands available for Indian buyers.
The new Abarth models will be sold through existing Fiat dealerships, and they will most likely receive a ‘special corner’ where they will be displayed in each showroom. Two models will be available at first, and they are the Punto Abarth and the 500.
With the extreme popularity of the 500, and the extra added appeal of the peppy Abarth model, and the increasing number of trendy hipsters in India, we say the 500 and Punto Abarth models will sell well. So far no further details on the matter have been announced, including one key aspect of the whole deal - the pricing.
