Two new spy photos of the Yamaha YZF-R25 have surfaced. They have been taken in traffic and aren’t showing anywhere near the desired level of detail we’d like to see, but it’s still great to see that these pics keep on coming.
Still, Yamaha is being exceptionally secretive about this new bike, and is not offering any sort of details as to when will it become available and more important, in which markets. However, we have solid reasons to believe that this new Yamaha will be a worldwide model, even though some markets, such as Europe and North America are likely to receive a 300cc version, rumored to be the mysterious R3 bike.

The reasoning behind this assumption is that Yamaha’s rivals Honda and Kawasaki are already moving up from their quarter-liter machines based on the supersport and superbike models. Honda will soon start shipping the new CBR300R, whereas Kawasaki has already been selling the Ninja 300 for quite some time.

It’s hard to tell how much will the final shape of the bike resemble to the M1-derived version Valentino Rossi introduced in late November, 2013, but at least the front part of the side panels seem coherent with the race version. More photos are sure to arrive soon, and this mystery will hopefully be solved.

However, I am more curious about the power and torque figures for the new Yamaha(s), as they could be the next major selling point, alongside the awesome pricing the house of Iwata is using for its new machines.
