Mat Watson and the carwow channel continue their collaboration with the good folks over at 'Officially Gassed' as they lend their tuned Porsche 911 for an epic quarter-mile brawl with a tuned Audi R8. And then there's also a third member of the social media pack in for the show – Yanni, in a bonkers R35 Nissan GT-R.
Typically, a six-cylinder Porsche 911 Turbo S going up against a twin-turbo R35 Nissan GT-R is fair game. Both fighting a V10-powered Audi R8 is something else entirely. Let's start with the latter, as the standard tune gets around 620 ponies from the 5.2-liter V10 – but it's naturally aspirated, so it has 'just' 580 Nm!

No worries, Mat Watson is driving a whole different breed of Audi R8 – a blue example that doesn't feel sad about adding a twin-turbo kit and some ECU magic to deliver a hard-to-believe 950 ponies and some 850 Nm. It weighs 1,595 kg, according to the carwow stats, and costs £135k, complete with the tune! That's nice, right?

Well, next up, the R35 Nissan GT-R is a heavyweight, and not just because Yanni is driving it. Instead, this JDM thoroughbred went from the standard setup of the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 with 550 ps and 620 Nm to a hypercar-level tune of between 1,000 and 1,200 horsepower. The torque is also bonkers, but the weight is also up through the roof at 1,860 kg, although it's a tad cheaper than the Audi at £125k!

Last but not least comes Jamie from OG with his tuned 992-series Porsche 911 Turbo S that was bought for a crazy amount of money, and even with the 'cheap' tune, it still costs over £206k. At least it also went from 650 ponies and 800 Nm to no less than 888 hp and 1,000 Nm for the 3.8-liter twin-turbo boxer mill. It's also about as heavy as the R8, by the way.

The trio shares good banter during the intro, between the races, and at the end, which shows they're natural in front of the camera. Especially when they do something they love, such as flooring the accelerator pedal of heavily modified supercars in a bid to see who comes out on top of the standing quarter-mile trial. And they do it quite often, just because they can.

In the end, only one car came out on top of the drag races, albeit with a bit of help from some forgotten race car fuel! Interestingly, things were reversed when it came to real-life situations like a rolling race, and the previous winner mostly came out last! We're not going to spill the beans on who won each segment, including the brake test, mainly because it's too fun to watch the trio go about their racing business and smile like little kids!
