Ladies and gentlemen drivers, we want to introduce you to the joys of buying a used car. Scrap that, we actually meant to say used racecar.
The contraption in question is a C6 Corvette which has been taken far, far away from its factory setup, all with the aim of turning it into an extreme drag racing machine.

This Chevrolet can now be dialed all the way up to 2,400 hp, hence its Unicorn Vette nickname. The car recently changed its owner, with the new driver now trying to accommodate to the traction challenges such a machine has.

The main challenge has to do with the fact that this Corvette was tuned into a drag race machine, while the new owner uses it for roll racing.

On the journey to making the necessary changes, the man took the Corvette for a few test runs during the recent Texas Invitational half mile event.

The aim was to hit the 200 mph (322 km/h) barrier, but the machine stopped at 180 mph (290 km/h). While that only means the owner knows where he's standing, we want to take a bit of time and talk about the monstrous setup protruding through the Corvette's hood.

Yes, this car is missing a big block, but this is the only element it lacks when it comes to an extreme engine compartment. Its small block was gifted with twin 88mm turbos, as well as a 400 shot of nitrous.

To get an idea of how mean this Chevrolet Corvette is, we don't even have to discuss its top end performance. It's enough to mention that this is a machine that delivers around 1,700 hp on a medium boost setup. Oh, and its idle sound makes the voice of a hammered stock Z06 seem a little shy.

The best part of this story is that we'll definitely see more of this Unicorn Vette's adventures next year. Until then, you can check out its Texas Invitational hooning in the footage below.
