220 Mercedes Benz Trucks Go to Lehnkering

One of the biggest orders received this year by the trucks division of Mercedes-Benz was secured this week, with 220 Mercedes-Benz Actros trucks to be delivered to logistics company Lehnkering. All trucks will be serviced by Mercedes through the CharterWay package.

“The logistics service provider Lehnkering and Mercedes-Benz are linked by more than 60 years of partnership. I am pleased that Lehnkering has once again chosen our trucks and comprehensive range of services,” Hubertus Troska, head of Mercedes-Benz trucks said in a statement.

“Both companies have a long tradition that connects us just as much as our customers' demands for high quality do - demands we also make on ourselves.”

All trucks ordered by Lehnkering will be built over the next four years at the Worth facility and then shipped to Germany, the Netherlands and Poland. Two thirds of them are to be used for chemical transport, while the rest will be put to work transporting steel.

All vehicles are fitted with the TopSafety package (complete Active Brake Assist system). Under the hoods, the trucks will use BlueTec which meet both Euro5 guidelines and the Enhanced Environmental Friendly Vehicle (EEV) standards.

“We were convinced by Mercedes-Benz’ overall concept. The combination of reliable service, the coverage of service stations, the training and further qualification of our drivers and the possibility of making seasonal and cyclical adjustments to the fleet size are exactly tailored to the needs of Lehnkering,”
Hans van den Bosch, Lehnkering Chemical Transport managing director added.
