The 2025 Toyota Crown Nightshade is here to give future owners the feeling that they are driving a premium car. The new version features dark badging, black door handles, and wheels in matte black finish.
Toyota is keeping the sedans alive and is trying to breathe some attraction into the segment with new, exciting, special editions. For the model year 2025, the automaker brings a new grade, the Nightshade, available in Storm Cloud and Black, continuing the dark theme of the special edition. Toyota went dark with everything to make the Crown a head-turner.

The new Nightshade Edition joins the three grades already available: XLE, Limited, and Platinum. The new version is exclusively available with all-wheel drive and can be ordered with the hybrid powertrain as standard, while the Hybrid MAX and the Toyota Hybrid System (THS) are optional.

The standard equipment list includes a heated steering wheel and heated and ventilated front seats across all grades, while the head-up display is standard exclusively on the Platinum grade.

The XLE, Limited, and Nightshade are powered by the THS that combines a front and rear electric motors with the 2.5-liter turbocharged engine. Meanwhile, the Platinum gets the Hybrid MAX system, which integrates the 2.4-liter turbocharged engine and an electric motor installed on the rear axle for a total of 340 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque.

The Platinum is equipped with the Adaptive Variable Suspension with variable oil pressure shock absorbers, tuned to support the extra oomph that the Hybrid MAX brings along. The tuning of the AVS changes based on the driving mode that the driver selects: Normal, Eco, Sport, Sport+, Comfort, or Custom.

Toyota keeps the paintwork lineup for the 2025 model year. Thus, customers can order Black, Oxygen White, Bronze Age, Heavy Metal, Supersonic Red, and Storm Cloud. Those who go for the Platinum grade can select a unique bi-tone paint, pairing black with Oxygen White, Heavy Metal, Supersonic Red, and Bronze Age.

The Crown standardly rides on 19-inch wheels, but 21-inch units are also available. The model elevates at the hip point, measuring about 25 inches for easier ingress and egress.

A 12.3-inch full digital display, controls in piano black, a vertical wireless charging port, and the latest Toyota Audio Multimedia system (or the optional 11-speaker JBL Premium) are on board.

A heating steering wheel offered as standard, an illuminated entry, and an eight-way power adjustable driver and front passenger seats are also on the menu. Meanwhile, the rear seats sport ample cushioning and bolster support.

The panoramic moonroof is standard on the Toyota Crown Platinum, Nightshade, and Limited grades.

The 2025 Toyota Crown is subject to the 36-month/36,000 mile basic new-vehicle warranty for all components. An additional 60-month warranty is offered for the powertrain for 60,000 miles.
