Mercedes has started accepting orders for the CLE Cabriolet in the United Kingdom. The open-top model follows in the footsteps of the fixed-roof variant, and it is available in four trim levels with as many powertrain options.
The range starts from £52,995 (equal to $66,903) on the road with the AMG Line. The entry-level features 18-inch alloys, LED headlamps with high beam assist, automatic climate control, Nappa leather-wrapped sports steering wheel, a wireless charging pad, and 64-color ambient lighting. It also gets traffic sign assist, blind spot assist, and a reversing camera.

Build on the base version is the AMG Line Premium. It comes from £54,745 ($69,112), adding 19-inch wheels, more advanced LED headlamps, augmented reality for navigation, and 360-degree cameras.

Riding on 20-inch wheels and starting at £58,745 ($74,162), the Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet AMG Line Premium Plus (jeez, that's a long name) brings 20-inch alloys, a premium audio system, a head-up display, and the Energizing Plus Package that includes climatized front seats with massaging function and a few other things.

Completing the offering is the Premier Edition. This model kicks off at £61,245 ($77,318) and features different 20-inch alloys that bear AMG's signature, a heated steering wheel, and Nappa leather upholstery.

According to the three-pointed star brand, the CLE Cabriolet comes in eight exterior colors, including the more exclusive Manufaktur finishes of Opalite White, Alpine Gray, and Patagonia Red. The rag top is available in Red, Black, or Gray, and inside, customers can opt for Power Red/Black, Macchiato Beige/Black, Tonka Brown/Black, or Black leather upholstery. As you already know, the range-topper benefits from standard Nappa leather, which can be specified in Tonka Brown/Black, White, or Black.

Power-wise, all variants are available in the CLE 200 configuration, featuring a 2.0-liter four-pot gasoline burner that churns out 204 ps (201 hp/150 kW). The CLE 300 4Matic is limited to the top three models, packing a 2.0L unit with 258 ps (254 hp/190 kW), and so is the CLE 450 4Matic, which features a 3.0L six-banger rated at 381 ps (376 hp/280 kW). Last but not least, a 2.0-liter turbodiesel is also available, kicking out 197 ps (194 hp/145 kW).

All versions, bar the CLE 300 and CLE 450, are rear-wheel drive, whereas these feature an AWD system, and they come with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The most agile is the 450, taking 4.7 seconds to 62 mph (100 kph), and the slowest are the 200 and 220 d (diesel), with 7.9 seconds, whereas the 300 can do it in 6.6 seconds. It is also worth noting that the entire powertrain family available for the CLE Cabriolet features mild-hybrid tech.

A number of options can be specified to all trim levels and these vary depending on the selected model.
