For the first time ever in Raptor history, the Ranger Raptor is available stateside. Manufactured at the Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne alongside the Bronco, the 2024 model year Ford Ranger Raptor features the same 3.0-liter EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 lump as the ridiculously expensive Bronco Raptor.
Care to guess which other Raptor comes with a sixer? That would be the F-150 Raptor, whose 3.5-liter EcoBoost has the upper hand over the 3.0-liter sibling. But with the F-150 Raptor being that bit heavier, which truck is quicker in a straight line?

If you're interested in top speed, that would be 107 miles per hour (172 kilometers per hour) for the Ranger Raptor and 120 miles per hour (193 kilometers per hour) for the F-150 Raptor. The rest-of-the-world Ranger Raptor tops 112 miles per hour (180 kilometers per hour), whereas the F-150 Raptor 37 and F-150 Raptor R are – sadly – limited to 114 miles per hour (183 kilometers per hour).

In the quarter, however, the big-boy truck is the one to have. The Fast Lane's Tommy Mica and Alex Lightman drag raced the all-new Ranger Raptor against the F-150 Raptor with the 37-inch tire package, and – not surprising in the least – the heavier and more powerful truck posted the better time. In Alex's hands, the F-150 Raptor 37 needed 15.20 seconds at 95.4 miles per hour (154 kilometers per hour) to cross the line, while Tommy clocked 15.61 clicks in the new Ranger Raptor.

Pictured on KO2s and KO3s, respectively, the off-road trucks were also tested from a 30-mph rolling start. If you prefer metric units, make that 48 kilometers per hour. Although it's much closer than the drag race, the roll ended with the F-150 Raptor 37 asserting dominance over the Ranger Raptor.

Tommy claims the Ranger Raptor weighs around 5,300 pounds, and the F-150 Raptor anything between 5,700 – 5,800 pounds. In truth, Ford Motor Company quotes 5,325 pounds (2,415 kilograms) for the Ranger Raptor, 5,740 pounds (2,604 kilograms) for the F-150 Raptor, and 5,886 pounds (2,700 kilograms) with the larger tires.

There is a much bigger difference between the mid- and full-size trucks in terms of pricing, although the Bronco Raptor is pricier than both. The Dearborn-based automaker wants a ludicrous $90,035 for the four-door sport utility vehicle, $55,470 for the relatively similar Ranger Raptor, and $78,330 for the 2024 model year F-150 Raptor. The 37 Performance Package adds $11,470 to the final price, while the R Equipment Group is $31,925.

Because the Ram 1500 has already entered the 2025 model year with six-cylinder muscle only, the Raptor R remains the only half-ton pickup truck with an available supercharged V8. The 720-horsepower Raptor R bests the 702-horsepower Ram 1500 TRX, yet the 6.2-liter Hellcat HEMI V8 offers 10 more pound-feet (14 Nm) of torque.

Ram's indirect successor for the TRX is the so-called RHO, an anacronym that stands for Ram High Output. What kind of high output? Think 540 horsepower and 521 pound-feet (706 Nm) from the new 3.0-liter Hurricane twin-turbo inline-six.
