When a brand-spanking-new Porsche 911 Turbo S facelift and a heavily tuned Toyota Supra engage in a drag race, the results can be so surprising that you'd better not make any bets.
The piece of footage at the bottom of the page brings us such a fight, with the two machines duking it out on an empty airfield. So the only thing the drivers had to worry about was the speedometer's travel.

The Neunelfer didn't make full use of its all-wheel-drive since the two went for a rolling start. Nevertheless, we'll end the spoiler here, as we want to let the clip do its job.

However, before you hit that "play" button, there are few numbers we need to discuss and we'll start with the Toyota.

Gifting your Supra with 1,000 hp is not too much of a challenge these days, as the usual 2JZ under the hood is overly friendly when it comes to tuning. Nevertheless, fine tuning the car in order to be able to put the power down is another thing altogether.

We'll use the good old quarter mile run as an example: a well-tuned 1,000 HP Supra should be able to complete such a stunt in the low-9s range, while exceptional aftermarket work and hefty weight reduction could even lead to high-8s runs.

As for Porsche's 991.2 Turbo S, the supercar didn't just receive an extra 20 horses, but also a few other goodies such as a civilized anti-lag feature. Under ideal conditions, the 580 hp Turbo S can deal with the quarter mile in 10.5 seconds.

The video uses cameras mounted on both cars, as well as offering bonuses drone footage, so you'll get a complete view of the race. And yes, all you score-keepers, this seems to be the first time we see the 991.2 Turbo S used for this kind of adventures.
