Imagine the most determined guys at your local gym, who had spent years doing their weight lifting thing, decided to put on their boxing gloves and turn things up to eleven - such a picture would probably give you a vague idea of what a drag race between the all-new 2017 Camaro ZL1 and the Dodge Challenger Hellcat is like.
For the complete take on this velocity matter, we've brought along the piece of footage at the bottom of the page. The video shows the two muscle heroes duking it out on the drag strip that occupies Hennessey Performance's back yard.

The Chevrolet Corvette Z06-engined muscle car and the Mopar machine battled it out on three separate occasions, all to ensure the conclusion was relevant. And since this is the kind of speeding argument that can easily start a keyboard war, we're glad the Lone Star State aftermarket developer chose such an approach.

Even so, the brawl could use some extra angles and we're referring to technical angles here. For one thing, the two ripped coupes went for a rolling start and, even in such a situation, the Hellcat's 275-section rear tires still weren't entirely spared of the smoking ordeal - did anybody say Dodge Challenger Hellcat ADR? We have to wait for the calendar to show "2017" for that grip monster to land, remember?

We're also dealing with a transmission battle that follows the unfair funfair rules, as John Hennessey admits in the clip. Then again, just as this battle is a follow-up for the Camaro ZL1 vs Corvette Z06 fight we recently showed you, we'll definitely get to see both a stick-to-stick confrontation and an all-auto brawl when the time is right. And with the 10-speed auto Chevy Camaro ZL1 models coming in Sprint 2017, we know exactly what to expect from the drag racing realm.
