What we reported last week about the rumors saying that Mitsubishi is looking to extend the i-MiEV affair with a launch scheduled in March turns out to be accurate, as the Japanese carmaker decided to spread the world about the 2016 i-MiEV.
To be honest, we can hardly consider the 2016 i-MiEV a facelift, so we’re willing to set for the “mildly updated” term which looks more precise in describing what Mitsubishi is doing at the moment with its small EV. But since they only have the brand's best interests in mind and the small EV's sales which by the way, are slowly fading at the moment, we'll just wait to see if such decisions work their magic or not.

Mitsubishi Motors North America announced that the 2016 i-MiEV will arrive at dealers across the United States in late March 2015 with a starting price of $22,995, the exact same price tag on the 2014 i-MiEV.

America’s most affordable electric vehicle won’t suffer many changes compared to the 2014 year model. In fact, there are no differences in terms of exterior and interior design, but Mitsubishi says that the upcoming model will receive a new Navigation Package consisting of a MMCS navigation system with a 7-inch touchscreen display.

Besides that, clients get access to real-time traffic, Bluetooth connectivity, one USB port and a rear view camera. As standard equipment, the 2016 Mitsubishi i-MiEV will retain the heated front seats but will receive a remote keyless entry function and heated side mirrors.

Warranty-wise, the 2016 Mitsubishi i-MiEV comes with a fully-transferable 8-year / 100,000-mile limited warranty for the lithium-ion main drive battery pack and a 5-year / 60,000-mile limited warranty for the powertrain.
