After launching the 2016 Cadillac CT6 flagship sedan, as well as the ATS-V and CTS-V go-faster brutes, the most luxurious brand in the General Motors portfolio won’t be stopping here. This time around Cadillac announces that it will enhance the CUE system for the 2016 model year.
The Cadillac CUE infotainment system has its ups and downs but recent years saw the manufacturer better it ever so slightly. For the 2016 model year, Cadillac plans a broader enhancement of the CUE system with “new features and a faster, streamlined operation.”

David Leone, executive chief engineer, notes: “In 2016 we’re moving quickly to enhance phone integration and overall system performance.”

After introducing 4G LTE connectivity and wireless charging on the 2015 Cadillac model lineup, it seems like the 2016 will build on those features to become the most performant CUE to date.

The main enhancement comes in the guise of a more powerful processor, enabling faster start-up, navigation searches, media playing and better voice recognition. If we’re talking about the Escalade, CTS and XTS, CUE is also adding Surround Vision 360 degree perimeter view. Additionally, the control structure for the navigation has been simplified for much easier destination searches.

Last but not least, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will help smartphone buffs integrate their devices with the most modern Cadillac CUE infotainment system yet. Provided that you have an iPhone 5 running at least iOS 7.1 or an Android phone running Lollipop, you’ll have access to hands-free text messaging, Skype, WhatsApp, Spotify, Google Play Music, Siri, iTunes and so forth.
