The 2016 BMW X6 will benefit from a couple of improvements done to its standard level of kit offered and that’s all done in the hope of making it more popular. That being said, let’s see what will change for it starting with August 2015.
The new models will get enhanced USB and Bluetooth as standard and they include mobile office (Text Messages, Email, Calendar, Tasks, Contact photos, Voice memos), an additional microphone, Bluetooth sync for a second phone and library browsing via Bluetooth.
On top of that 4-zone automatic climate control, satellite radio with 1-year subscription and the Harman Kardon surround sound system will become free on the xDrive50i models.
The M Sport package is now $3,900 ($400 more) and includes 19” M light alloy wheels, the M steering wheel, M aerodynamic kit, Anthracite headliner and Shadowline exterior kit.
On the other hand, the Driver Assistance Plus Package will be $200 less at $1,700 and will include the same features like the Active Driving Assistant with stop & go function, active blind spot detection, surround view (which will come in very handy) and speed limit info.
Other changes are rather limited. Since the xDrive50i model gets more standard kit now, the Executive Package for these models will cost $3,200 and won’t include the HK sound system, 4-zone air climate control and satellite radio subscription anymore. That also means that the Bang & Olufsen sound system is available as a standalone option for $3,700.
As far as prices go, they have gone up but only by a small amount. The base sDrive35i model now starts at $60,795, the xDrive version went up to $63,095 and the xDrive50i is now $75,495. All prices include the new $995 destination and handling tax.
