Last year, Porsche showed us that it’s working hard on bringing out a facelift for the current 911 Turbo model and we saw their pilots test the wheels off the early prototypes but it looks like things are not about to slow down as we approach the release date. In our latest batch of spyshots, out carparazzi caught the upcoming model close and personal and snapped a couple of shots of the interior.
The first thing that hits you is the new steering wheel that seems to resemble the one used inside the 918 Spyder. There’s a new button located between the two spokes to the right, that could be used to start and shut down the car or to switch between driving modes, just like on the hybrid supercar.

However, a powertrain made of an internal combustion engine and an electric motor might not be included in this facelift according to the latest info available, being kept on until the brand new model will come out somewhere in 2017.

Even so, since there’s no Sport or Sport Plus button on the center console, coupled with the fact that the ignition key slot is still present to the left of the steering wheel, we can only imagine that this is the real purpose of the new switch.

As for the dash, you can also notice the new touch screen that seems a bit bigger this time and that apparently swallowed some of the old buttons’ functionality as well.

Under the bonnet, expect small changes like is always the case with facelifted Porsches. For now, even a small power boost would be seen as a big deal as nobody expects the Germans to change a recipe that works so well for them.
