They say men are like children stuck in a bigger body, all day caring about cars and playing with them. Well, don’t forget sand sculpting, we also love doing that from time to time. And even so, don’t forget that cars are still our subject when it comes to playing with sand.
And we even have contests for that. Like the 2015 US Sand Sculpting Championships from this weekend where you’ll find this fine example of craftsmanship, translating through a 1:1 scale 2015 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck.
“It’s a great fit for the Colorado to be partnered with the U.S. Sand Sculpting Championships,” said Tony Johnson, Colorado marketing manager. “With Southern California being the largest mid-size truck market in the country, the Colorado is right at home here in San Diego.”
The whole body of the truck has been sculpted from what it appears to be like two tons of sand. Still, some elements like the wheels, front grille and lights had to be simply placed there from the real car, in a process similar to how car designers create those clay concepts that ultimately end up on a rotating platform at an automotive event.
With the introduction of Colorado, Chevrolet will offer customers more choices than any other pickup truck brand, including midsize, full-size light duty and heavy-duty pickups. Colorado will be available in Chevrolet dealerships nationwide in the fall of 2014.
