Volkswagen of America has announced pricing for the remainder of the Passat 1.8T lineup, which starts at $20,895 plus a $820 destination and handling fee.
For the aforementioned amount customers will be able to order the base S model that comes with a five-speed manual transmission. Next in line is the 1.8T Wolfsburg Edition with a price tag set at $23,965, while the SE version begins at $24,475. The SE with Sunroof and the SE with Sunroof and Navigation will start at $26,395 and $27,555 respectively.
All models are fitted with the new 1.8-liter engine that delivers 170 HP, just like the 2.5-liter unit, and accelerates from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 7.5 seconds with a manual gearbox and in 7.9 seconds with an automatic transmission. As for fuel economy, the 1.8T models return an estimated 34 highway/24 city/28 combined mpg with an automatic and 35/24/28 mpg with a manual.
