The 2014 iteration of the Victory Boardwalk boasts the classic cruiser lines mixed with a dash of dragster DNA, but only to make some eyebrows raise and without allowing the contamination to change too much in this slender machine.
The new Boardwalk mixes old-school accents with modern tech and the resulting machine will surely appeal to both classic and modern bike lovers. The full fenders evoke the way they used to make motorcycles back in the day, and the chromed 60-spoke laced rims shod with whitewalled tires are enhancing the retro element, while the chrome accents are following in the same idea.
Chrome is also present on the headlight casing, engine covers, exhaust, beach bars and makes nifty contrast with the two-tone paint and the black frame and engine, for a distinguished look.
Power comes from the Freedom 106cui (1,731cc) injected v-twin with air and oil cooling, and is sent to the ground by means of an overdrive 6-speed tranny and carbon-reinforced belt. The power plant has enough brawn to carry the 307 kg (675 lbs) machine through slow uphill turns and along highways at high speed, while the recognizable torque-focused engineering will surely put a big smile on the rider's faces.
The pillion seat is removable so switching between two-up fun and solo madness is both easy and quick. Lock & Ride accessories are also available, such as windscreens, sissy bars and saddlebags: coupled with the generous fuel tank, the 2014 Victory Boardwalk can instantly transform from a solo city-carving beast into a touring machine.
