They may have brought the 2014 Toyota RAV4 to a rather sedan-like 6.3 inches (160 mm) ground clearance, but the crossover is doing a pretty good impersonation of an offroader, as we found out during our test drive.
Here we were caught understeering while attempting to corner uphill. Speaking of understeer, it’s bettwe to get the all-wheel drive version even if you never go off the road. This will simply feel safer through the bends, especially if you press the “Sport” button, which alters the torque distribution.
As always, here’s where you’ll find the RAV4 most of the time, inside the city. The’ve made it considerably longer and you do feel the change, but the vehicle still handles the urban driving parts well.
The cabin of the crossover is where they’ve made the most welcome changes. Take a look around this US design-inspired interior in the Full HD photo gallery of our 2014 Toyota RAV4 test drive.
