Toyota has confirmed that the 2014 Highlander SUV will be showcased during the 2013 New York Auto Show later this month.
Since the Japanese automaker issued a very brief release about it, the all-new Highlander is still somewhat of a mystery. However, the third-generation issue of the mid-size SUV will be probably offered with the same four and six cylinder gasoline engines and hybrid configurations.
Based on the Toyota Camry platform, which was redesigned last year, the Highlander is expected to gain electric power steering and standard 6-inch screen audio system.
With seven years already on its back, the Highlander should come with several safety updates and a more refined interior, but we'll find out more about it on March 27, when the Toyota press conference will be held in New York's Jacob Javits Center.
On the market since 2000, with a redesign in 2007, the Toyota Highlander has sold more than 100,000 units per year in the US in 2011 and 2012.
