We've just told you that Toyota's GT 86 sports coupe is available in China for CNY269,000 ($43,250 at the current exchange rate), a very decent price for what is undoubtably a cult car of the moment. The 86 was designed in partnership with Subaru and is actually built by Fuji Heavy Industries on the same line as the BRZ.
Speak of the devil, the blue wonder is also coming to China this month, having been officially scheduled to debut on March 21st.

The main differences between the two is the obvious badging, the shape of the front bumper and the addition of a rear wing mounted on the boot lip. Because Suburus aren't that popular in China because there's never been much rallying going on. But that only means you might negotiate a better deal over the the list price.

Just as a reminder, the Subaru BRZ is also powered by a 200 hp 2.0-liter boxer available as standard with a manual gearbox. Official figures say it takes about 6 seconds to reach 100 km/h and has a top speed of 225 km/h.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
