Saab has released the first photos and details of the 2014 9-3 Aero, which was put into production in Trollhattan, Sweden earlier this week.
Virtually identical to the facelifted 9-3 model that debuted two years ago, the “new” four-door sedan lacks the griffin logos, as National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS) isn’t allowed to use the distinctive badge following an announcement made by Scania AB last year.
The 2014 9-3 Aero will be launched with a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine that delivers 220 HP via a manual or an automatic transmission. The vehicle will go on sale in Sweden on December 10, with prices starting from SEK279,000 (€31,458 / £26,107 / $42,855).
“It is truly a complex mission to start a car production process which has been still for two and a half years. It is very pleasing that we have embarked on a journey where we want to and will make a difference with our partners and customers. Our electric car will be launched next year, and already today we can offer Saab cars with continued high, proven performance and quality”, said Nevs’ President Mattias Bergman.
