The current 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera 2S is already as fast round the Nurburgring as the old GT3 (7:40 lap time), so when the brand new track-fucused iteration arrives in 2014, much is expected.
Previous rumors said the new GT3 will only come with a PDK gearbox. Certainly, that would follow the industry trend, as pretty much all supercars have been robotized, and it would also make the racer faster. But purists and fans alike objected to the idea, and the manual looks likely to stick around.

The 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 is rumored to offer a staggering amount of power - 450 hp from the usual 3.8-liter boxer.

We have not seen any prototypes yet, but it’s only a matter of time before we do. But thankfully, Wild Speed has produced these excellent rendering of what it’s likely to look like. You’ve got the obvious changes (double exhaust in the middle and a big wing on the back) but also subtle enhancements to the front. The aero kit is a bit fictional right now, but Porsche will likely go this rout with the styling.
