Now that the 2014 MINI Cooper is out, the media is crazy about getting behind the wheel and testing that new 3-cylinder 1.5-liter engine we’ve been hearing so much about, that will be used in BMWs too.
The guys from Autocar were invited to Puerto Rico to test the new car and they were impressed. Not only the Cooper blew them away with its new chassis but the engine wasn’t too bad either.
Talking about the heart of the car, they said it’s smooth and powerful, well balanced and comes with a nice growl too, even from the get go, not only at high revs.
Compared to the retiring 1.6-liter 4-pot unit, the new B38 engine feels lightyears away. It’s simply better in every aspect and, combined with the new chassis and suspension it will make your daily commutes a pleasurable experience.
