When Mercedes announced the A45 AMG a few months ago, they said it was only the first of many new go-faster models with permanent all-wheel drive. Obviously, they have some new SUVs coming, as well as the CLA45 AMG that uses the same platform, but it wouldn’t be a true surprise if they didn’t make an AWD sedan or coupe with an AMG engines.
A new rumor has emerged suggesting the facelifted E63 AMG will take a slice of Audi RS5 pie, with its own 4Matic all-wheel drive system and a new dual clutch gearbox. This report comes from a Benz Boost user who confirmed this with his AMG dealer.

AMG engines have always had trouble putting all their power down without ripping the rear tires to shreds, and this seems to be an excellent solution. However, Mercedes’ 4Matic systems have never been know for their excellent handling characteristics.
