2014 Mercedes-Benz S550 W222 Review by Cnet on Cars

Most of the reviews we encountered so far for the all-new W222 Mercedes-Benz S-Class have been searching for pretty much the same conclusion. Is it or is it not the best car in the world?

Oddly enough, Cnet's Brian Cooley didn't mention this even once in his review of a pre-production Mercedes-Benz S550. He didn't mention a number of new technologies found on the Sonderklasse as well, but that might have happened because the car he tested wasn't specced with everything the Stuttgart manufacturer can throw at the car.

In other words, the multimedia package for the rear seats was missing, and so was the Magic Sky Control camera-based suspension technology, which may or may not have influenced the overall tone of the review.

Even so, the test is short but pretty thorough, with most of the technologies present on the test car being given both an explanation and an opinion.

The not-so-flattering comparison between the high-end audio system Burmester logo and the Budweiser beer logo was a bit too stereotypically American/ignorant, but we soon let that go after we saw the hilarious pose with the cat on the back seat, enjoying the different types of massage the S-Class seats can offer.
