A lot of people think that the 2014 Lexus IS F Sport’s front fascia is ugly. Not because of the spindle grille, but because of the small insect-like headlights.
Hearing so, one of the best car renderers out there, Theophilus Chin took some press photos and virtually modified the front end of the sport sedan by fitting it with bigger “normal” headlights which look less offensive.
Result? With all the respect for his work, I think it’s an awful idea. Normal headlights would completely destroy the new IS’ identity. This sport sedan was redesigned to look flamboyant, to make your hair raise on the back of the head only through its design, because let’s be honest, it’s not the most powerful sedan you can buy now.
And normal headlights, with bigger lenses, bigger reflective surfaces and bigger everything makes it look boring as a rock. Not to mention that it would look like a cheaper ES model.
Just take a look at the pictures bellow and see how much those new headlights count for visual.
