Yes, it looks like an experiment from Top Gear, but it's not their idea. At least this rendering looks more practical.
While Toyota won’t offer this open top Land Cruiser this century, some tuning firms can get inspired and make a safari version out of the stock one.
Cut the roof and the D pillars, leave a girder to connect the B pillars in the center, put on some nice rims and there you have it. The perfect safari vehicle. Leather upholstery, premium sound system (well, probably you won’t need that when you go to see the lions, but may come in handy on the way back), smooth ride and the pleasure of seeing the sky.
