There are people out there, like Chris Evans for example, that think hybrids are not cool - underpowered engines with silent electric motors kicking in when you start off slowly, ripping away all the driving fun.
But give them a day behind the wheel of a 2014 Lexus IS 300h and they’ll totally like it. Of course no motorist will want to drive an electric toaster on wheels, but the IS 300h far away from a toaster, it’s more like an iPhone - looks cool but does the same things as every other smartphone, while coming with only a few gimmicks to attract.
Same goes for the IS - it looks absolutely stunning for a compact sedan, while having similar hybrid powertrain planted in the Prius. Yes, it’s more powerful and it’s positioned different, but it’s a Toyota Hybrid Drive system at its core.
