The problem with the new 4 Series was its name. Not that it’s bad or anything like but rather just because it was new. That meant, the 4er would be a brand new model that would have to assert itself as just that. Did it succeed?
Compared to the 3 Series, the 4 Series is much more planted, lower and more elegant. The overall design shows improvement and the handling is improved on almost every level.

Get the adaptive dampers and the 3-liter turbocharged petrol engine and you have the best car in its segment for right now. Neither the A5 or the C-Class Coupe won’t hold a candle to the 4er, despite its aging interior.

The guys from Car Advice seem to think the 428i might be a better alternative though. The 2-liter 245 HP engine might lack around 60 HP but it is also lighter, making the front end of the car turn in more sharply. In the end, it’s just a matter of personal choice.
