The Audi A4 is still one of the best sold cars in its segment. The current generation model received a quick refresh in order to keep up with the new 3-Series, but an all-new model is on the way for 2014 which will have all the right moves.
The styling will most certainly be different to everything we’ve grown accustomed to, the platform will be lighter thanks to VW Group and the interior will be much more ergonomically arranged.

According to Auto Motor und Sport, the car will use cylinder deactivation technology under its belt. Versions version of the 1.4-liter found in the Polo BlueGT could produce anywhere from the 122 PS to 180 PS. It’s known that cylinder deactivation alone can cut fuel consumption by as much 0.5 L/100km. The system works by cutting fuel injection to cylinders 2 and 3 (the middle ones) from 1,500rpm to 4,000rpm. It also stops valve activity through specially designed grooved cams.

Rumors also suggest that the quattro version might use an electric motor at the back instead of conventional driveshafts.
