After Triumph had to modify the Speed Triple an Street Triple due to the harsher emissions regulations in Europe, an updated version of the Daytona 675 was clearly in line.
Thanks to the guys at triumph675.net, we can now show you some spy shots of the 2013 version of the Daytona 675, weeks before the announced presentation at EICMA in Milan, Italy. As far as we could tell from looking at these pictures, the main modification is the exhaust repositioning.

Just like the Street Triple and Speed Triple has received a MotoGp-styled exhaust positioned below the bike, the new Daytona 657 has also gotten a short pipe which makes it look better, in our opinion. With the sub-frame freed from the exhaust, the Daytona 675 seems to have had the rear part a bit shortened and redesigned.

We still can see a mini-pillion seat and a better-integrated tail light with a different license plate holder and blinkers. Other modifications seem to have affected the side fairing cutaway, now looking more aggressive in the shape of an arrow head, and some changes to the red color distribution, now no longer reaching the bottom of the fairing.

There is still no word on the power specs, but it looks like nobody is expecting any changes in this chapter. Maybe the bike will be a bit quicker because of the reduced weight and will handle better thanks to the lowered center of gravity.

With EICMA just weeks away, we'll know more pretty soon, anyway.
