Mercedes Benz selected the 2013 edition of the NAIAS to show off their most awesome creating ever. We’ll give you two hints: it’s yellow and it has gullwing doors.
Yes, it’s the ultra-mental bust still street-legal SLS AMG BLack Series that was introduced last year. It shouldn’t take long for these bad boys to reach our streets, but for now, this is as closer as we’re going to get.
The most extreme SLS is still powered by the 6.3-liter V8 engine, but it’s been re-tuend to produce no less than 622 hp (631 PS) at a screaming 8,000rpm, 39 hp more than the 2013 SLS AMG.
The Black Series treatment has made the SLS wide by 20mm at the front and 24 at the back. Those massive arches cover new 20-inch alloy wheels, which in turn cover standard carbon ceramic brakes.
If you can keep the car in a straight line, it will go from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.6 seconds and will top out at 315 km/h (196 mph). Part of this performance is also due to the weight saving, which adds up to 70 kg (154 pounds) over the SLS AMG GT, as the Black tips the scales at 1550 kg (3417 pounds).
